If you find yourself in the sun-kissed oasis of Palm Springs, The Reef at Caliente Tropics Resort is more than just a dining spot; it’s a delightful escape into the enchanting world of tiki culture. Nestled conveniently at 411 E Palm Canyon Dr, this vibrant restaurant and bar combines an irresistible menu with a laid-back atmosphere that makes it perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

The ambiance is a charming mix of retro tiki inspiration and modern comfort, creating an inviting space where patrons can kick back and enjoy the good vibes. With its playful décor and dim lighting, the atmosphere balances excitement and relaxation, ideal for anyone looking to start their night out or simply savor a satisfying meal.

The menu at The Reef boasts an array of enticing dishes and iconic cocktails designed to transport your taste buds to a tropical paradise. Begin your culinary journey with the much-loved Cobb Salad, a colorful and hearty blend of iceberg lettuce, juicy tomatoes, crispy bacon, creamy avocado, and an ample serving of turkey and ham—all finished with a tangy blue cheese dressing for a delightful crunch at just $12.00. Or dive into a selection of classic sandwiches, such as the Turkey Sandwich ($10.00) or the ever-comforting Tuna Salad Sandwich ($9.00), both crafted with fresh ingredients that satisfy without overpowering.

Of course, no tiki experience is complete without indulging in their remarkable libations. Sip on the Classic Mai Tai ($11.00) prepared with a mix of dark and golden rums—a quintessential favorite that embodies the spirit of tiki bars. For those who enjoy creativity in their cocktails, the Eastern Whisky Sour ($10.00), featuring bourbon and fragrant orgeat with citrus notes, is a must-try! And let’s not forget the Hot Hula Hibi, which invites you to embrace the tropical allure through its tantalizing flavors.

The reviews from enthusiastic patrons only add to the restaurant's allure. Heather A. Adams, captivated by the cute tiki bar, praises its 'couple of strong tiki drinks' that make it the perfect prelude to a night out. Another satisfied customer, DC, highlights the refreshing cool of the air conditioning and the generous Reef pupu platter that easily satisfies two—ideal for shared experiences with friends or family. Meanwhile, Steve Hunsader found solace in the loaded Cobb Salad, affirming that it’s an excellent retreat from the hustle and bustle of vacation life.

Even though some reviewers mention varying experiences with service—like Sierra R., who felt the waitstaff could improve—many express appreciation for the attentive bartenders and enjoyable dining atmosphere. This balance of charming decor, culinary delights, and a friendly yet professional service team creates an experience that you won’t soon forget.

In summary, The Reef at Caliente Tropics Resort tempts you with its irresistible tiki-themed offerings, a comfortable setting for relaxation, and an atmosphere that transports you away from the everyday. Whether you're savoring a refreshing drink under the stars or indulging in comforting dishes, this is a culinary gem you won’t want to miss during your Palm Springs getaway.

This is a cute little tiki bar tucked away at the Caliente at the south end of the strip. If you’re staying in the hotels down there like the V the Ace or Saguaro it’s the perfect spot to start off your night because the drinks are strong tiki drinks. The staff is really nice and the atmosphere is chill, very cool and tiki.

Cool vibes, great food and service. We ordered the Reef pupu platter which was plenty for two. My husband ordered a zombie drink and I ordered the Palm Springs punch. We requested a spot with nice cool ac and it sure was chilly it was a nice escape from the heat.

We really enjoy this little Tiki-themed bar and restaurant in our neighborhood, especially at happy hour! They have great drinks and good happy hour offerings, including reduced prices on some menu options. I especially like their burgers and their fish and chips. Their loco moco is also very good, but we had to ask for extra gravy… They have some vegetarian options on their menu. Service is always good. They also have both indoor and patio seating options. I can definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great little bar with good prices and a good menu.

Cool vibe there. Food was good customer service was decent. Drinks weren’t that strong I expect more out of an establishment in Lovely Palm Springs

As a previous reviewer mentioned....a vacation from your vacation. This little hideaway was the perfect place to unwind from a day of chatting at the conference. The Cobb Salad was fully loaded with 3 different kinds of meat, a large portion of blue cheese, and no shortage of hard boiled egg. Although I didn't have any of the specialty drinks, I was surrounded by them during my meal. Although it's part of the motel, you really don't notice once you're there. Happy to try some of their other drinks and food choices on their menu. FYI, as long as you know in ADVANCE to walk lightly with the older waitress, you'll get the service you expect provided you're polite and respectful.

There are 3 Tiki bars in PS and this is the furthest away from downtown. Of the 3, this was pretty good. I missed their Happy Hour which is the best tiki deal in the area. Bartender was very knowledgeable and they have a full kitchen. Decor was tiki bar, but not the over the top experience of the newer places. Which makes sense as it's 60 years old (the resort). If youre staying at the resort you're in for a good time.

Came here with a group of friends and instantly loved the vibe. The place is spacious but still manages to feel intimate. The lighting is perfect for evening drinks, and the décor is modern with an industrial twist. The bartenders mixed some fantastic cocktails — I highly recommend the smoked rosemary old fashioned. The service was fast, and the staff made sure we never had an empty glass. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to.

Went to this place for the first time with my tiki loving mom. The history and atmosphere are unbelievable, the drinks were delicious and fairly priced for tiki and the fish and chips were some of the best I’ve ever had. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the service wasn’t the best, we did a lot of waiting while there and our waitress seemed to not really want to deal with us, could have just been a rough day though. Will definitely be back in the future!
